Introduction | 3-bromophenyl methyl sulfone is an organic intermediate, which can be obtained by oxidation of 3-bromthioanisole. There are reports that it can be used to prepare mTOR inhibitors. |
Uses | 3-bromophenyl methyl sulfone is a hydrocarbon organic substance and can be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate. |
preparation | 3-bromothioanisole (8.7g, 43mmol) was added to dichloromethane (125 ml) and cooled to 0 ℃. To which 3-chloroperbenzoic acid (22.2g, 129mmol) was added. m- CPBA is not completely dissolved. Stir the reaction mixture overnight. The reaction was quenched with saturated thiosulfuric acid sodium (150 ml) solution. The product was extracted with EtOAc(3 × 100 ml). Combine the organic distillate parts, wash with salt water (75 ml), and dry with sodium sulfate. The organic liquid was then concentrated to give 9.89 grams (97%) of 3-bromophenylmethyl sulfone. |
